Storage and Installation
Tyre Storage
New tyres should generally be stored in cool, dry, dark and well-ventilated rooms. Tyres that are not mounted on rims should be stored upright. Contact with solvents, chemicals, fuels and lubricants must be avoided. Ensure that the inside of the tyre is free from water and moisture.
Tyre Installation
Tyre installation should be carried out with great care. Only rims that are dimensionally correct, free of rust and neither damaged nor worn should be used. In the case of multi-piece rims, particular attention must be paid to checking the loose flange.
When fitting new tyres, always use new rubber tubeless valves or new seals for tubeless metal valves, or new inner tubes and bead bands. With large tyres, it is especially important that they seat against the rim flange at the lowest possible inflation pressure.
For tractors with all-wheel drive, care must be taken to ensure that the tyre sizes on the front and rear axles are compatible with the tractor’s mechanical gear ratio and the lead of the front axle.
Neither with single tyres nor with dual tyres may two different tyre constructions be mounted on the same axle.
A new inner tube must always be installed in a new tube-type tyre, as even an externally undamaged tube may be impaired due to long periods of use.
Tip:
When fitting new inner tubes, they should always be lightly dusted with talcum powder.
