The powder-coated, heavy-duty metal bearings facilitate handling, and the tape measure is coated with a special transparent epoxy resin that ensures high wear resistance and protection against moisture and rust. The centimetre and decimetre markings are black, the digits on the measuring scale are red, and the clear, double-sided lettering makes them very easy to read.
