Description

Patura Self-Regulating Heating Cable - Sold by the Meter up to 20 m

Self-regulating heating cable

TheSelf-regulating heating cables reliably prevents water pipes from freezing in frosty conditions. The heating output adjusts automatically and continuously to the temperature of the pipework: maximum 12 W/m at 0 °C, 9 W/m at 10 °C.

Properties

  • Automatic stepless heat output control
  • Can be shortened and lengthened
  • Multiple branches possible
  • Maximum section length: 100 m
  • Repair possible in the event of damage
  • Maximum length 100 m with 16 A fuse protection
  • Pipe-mounted thermostat recommended for water temperature regulation (Ref. 381520)

Functionality

The heating cable consists of two electrical conductors surrounded by a polymer with graphite particles:

  • Cold: Polymer contracts, graphite particles come into contact, heating tape becomes warm.
  • Warm: Polymer expands, no contact between graphite particles, heating tape does not heat up.

Technical data

  • 230 V connection
  • Max. 12 W/m at 0 °C
  • RCD 30 mA required on site
  • Degree of protection IP 54 (splash-proof)

Product note

The length of the heating cable can be adjusted as required.

Practical tip

ProtectWater and heating pipes against browsing! Please use ourPipe protection models 380108 and 380119.

For plastic pipes we recommend theAluminium adhesive tape (Ref. 351181) for optimum heat distribution. This should be applied to the pipe before the heating cable is laid.
