Description

Patura Self-Regulating Heating Cable - Sold by the Meter from 20 m

Self-regulating heating cable

TheSelf-regulating heating cables reliably prevents water pipes from freezing in frosty conditions. The heating output adjusts automatically and continuously to the temperature of the pipework: maximum 12 W/m at 0 °C, 9 W/m at 10 °C.

Technical data

  • 230 V connection
  • Maximum heat output: 12 W/m (at 0 °C)
  • RCD 30 mA required on site
  • Degree of protection: IP 54 (splash-proof)
  • Can be shortened and lengthened
  • Multiple branches possible
  • Maximum section length: 100 m
  • Repair possible in the event of damage
  • Maximum length: 100 m with 16 A fuse protection
  • Pipe contact thermostat recommended (Ref. 381520)

Functionality

The heating cable consists of two electric cables surrounded by a polymer (insulating plastic) with graphite particles:

  • Cold: The polymer contracts, the graphite particles come into contact and the heating tape becomes warm.
  • Warm: The polymer expands, no contact between the graphite particles, the heating tape does not heat up.

Product note

The length of this heating cable can be adjusted as required.

Practical tip

Protect yourWater and heating pipes against browsing! For this we recommend ourPipe protection models 380108 and 380119.

If heating cables are used, the water pipes should be suitable for hot water. For plastic pipes, ourAluminium adhesive tape (Ref. 351181) for optimum heat distribution. This should be applied to the plastic pipe before laying the heating cable.
