Description

Patura Self-Regulating Heating Cable - Sold by the Meter from 100 m

Self-regulating heating cable

TheSelf-regulating heating cables prevents water pipes from freezing in frosty conditions and automatically adjusts its heating output to the pipe temperature. The heating output is a maximum of 12 W per metre at 0 °C (9 W per metre at 10 °C) and is infinitely variable, depending on the temperature of the pipe.

Technical data

  • Voltage: 230 V
  • Heat output: max. 12 W/m at 0 °C
  • RCD 30 mA required on site
  • Degree of protection: IP 54 (splash-proof)
  • Maximum length: 100 m with 16 A fuse protection
  • Multiple branches possible
  • Can be shortened and lengthened
  • Repairs possible in the event of damage
  • Pipe contact thermostat recommended (Ref. 381520)

Functionality

The heating cable consists of two electric cables surrounded by a polymer (insulating plastic) with graphite particles:

  • It is cold: The polymer contracts, the graphite particles come into contact and the heating tape becomes warm.
  • It is warm: The polymer expands, the graphite particles have no contact and the heating tape does not heat up.

Product note

The length of this heating cable can be adjusted as required.

Practical tip

Protect yourWater and heating pipes against browsing! For this we recommend ourPipe protection models 380108 and 380119.

If heating cables are used, the water pipes should be suitable for hot water. When using plastic pipes, ourAluminium adhesive tape (Ref. 351181) for optimum heat distribution on the water pipe. This should be glued to the plastic pipe before laying the heating cable.
