Eni Alaria 3 is a high performance heat transfer oil suitable as a fluid for transferring thermal energy to diathermic systems. These products consist of highly refined base oils and are characterised by excellent oxidative stability against thermal degradation at the recommended operating temperatures. Eni Alaria 3 can be used in different types of equipment, both in open and closed systems as well as in forced circulation lubrication. In modern closed systems operating under controlled conditions, in the absence of air and atmospheric pressure or in pressurised internal systems, the maximum operating temperatures are - Maximum flow temperature: 300 °C - Maximum oil film temperature: 320 °C In open systems, the presence of air impairs the oxidation stability of the oil. The maximum flow temperature here is 180 °C. If the temperature is higher than the recommended flow temperature, the oil ages significantly faster. This can lead to the formation of vapour bubbles in the circuit and to a considerable lowering of the flash point as well as to a reduction in the service life of the oil.
