Material - Slot insulators "S161" :
The thermoplastic polyethylene is the most common material for plastic products with a market share of almost 1/3. Thermoplastics are plastics that can be moulded at certain temperatures. Polyethylene (PE) is chemically resistant to acids, oils and fats and has good electrical insulating properties. The material is highly ductile and cold impact resistant and can be injection moulded. PE is flammable and not inherently weather-resistant, which is why UV absorbers are added to insulators. In addition to fence insulators, polyethylene is also used to make fencing tape, strands and ropes, for example.
