Material - "Mustang" ring insulators:
Almost a third of all plastic articles are made of the thermoplastic polyethylene. Thermoplastics are plastics that can be moulded at certain temperatures. Polyethylene (PE) is chemically resistant to acids, oils and greases and has good electrical insulating properties. The material is highly ductile and cold impact resistant and can be injection moulded. PE is flammable and not inherently weather-resistant, which is why UV absorbers are added to insulators.
